Komiksowa Warszawa (Warsaw of Comics) is one of the biggest comics festivals in Central Europe.

Its history began in 2010, when a group of artists, publishers, and simply comic enthusiasts, gathered together in the Polish Comics Association and decided to revive the tradition of annual comic festivals. Despite the hard beginnings, including such events as: the great fire of a printing house, eruption of an Icelandic volcano (that hindered the arrival of international guests) and a number of some really devastating tragedies, Komiksowa Warszawa has been brought to life.

A year later our festival established cooperation with Warsaw International Book Fair and as a result, in 2013 moved to its new home – the striking National Stadium. From its beginnings, the festival has been visited by thousands of fans from Poland and abroad. We have also invited a vast number of guests from all around the world, including USA, Italy, France, Germany, Hungary, Ukraine, Mexico…

As always, our main goal is to evoke passion for comics in people who visit the Fair and are not yet interested in our beloved medium. We prepare workshops for children, a comics reading-room, and exhibitions. Yet, we do not forget about the true comics fans. For them, we prepare panels, autograph sessions, and a pompous after-party in one of many clubs in the city.

The festival has been driven by our passion for several years. We believe that with a little help of the plethora of fans and volunteers, we can create something valuable.
